Data was collected.
Reports were created.
Dashboards were updated.
Everyone had access to the numbers.
From the outside, this looked like progress.
The organisation became more informed.
Yet decisions became harder.
Not because information was missing.
Because information and orientation are not the same thing.
Many systems do not suffer from a lack of data.
They suffer from an inability to distinguish what matters from what merely exists.
Information increased.
Orientation did not.
